When you schedule an appointment with a new dentist, even if it is just for routine dental care such as a dental check-up or a dental cleaning, you may be asked if you need to pre-medicate.
Some people have already learned that they need to pre-medicate before a dental visit. They might have been instructed by a dentist, doctor or other dental professional. Still, if a person hasn’t visited the dentist in a number of years, they might not need to pre-medicate.
Guidelines and information on who needs to pre-medicate before seeing a dentist for dental care can be found here.
